About the Item
Antique 18 Kt. gold and carnelian chain seal. The matrix is never engraved carnelian, oval in shape with beveled edges. The back of the carnelian appears convex. A flat gold band embraces the carnelian edge rising like a band geometrically decorated with vertical lines. Another smooth band and then the large wide bridge at the start which then narrows towards the top, where a ring is welded to the counter ring. The whole reflects identically the decorative motifs of the base band. England 1870.
