Extremely stylish piece of jewellery from the house of Jakob Bengel, dating to the 1930's and so advanced for it's time in it's design that one could be forgiven for not recognising it as a period piece. One of the leading manufacturers of Art Deco jewellery, the company produced in the 1920's and 1930's very innovative and individual pieces of the time, aesthetically characterised by their unique designs and modernist slant.

Jakob Bengel was a chain and costume jewellery factory, founded by Jakob Bengel in 1873 in Idar-Oberstein, Germany. Until 1920, the company specialised in the production of watch chains and chatelaines. In the 1920's and 1930's, it became one of the leading manufacturers of fashion jewellery in the Art Deco style
