About the Item

A very beautiful Italian Pietra Dura pocket watch stand with flower and leaf relief, circa early-20th century, Florence, Italy. Piece is a bronze or brass metal with a round black marble base with hand-cut inlayed marble and other stones. Pietra Dura is an inlay technique using cut, fitted, and highly polished colored stones to create images. It's considered a decorative art. The stonework is assembled together precisely and the contact between each section is practically invisible with a flat surface. Hook at top for watch. A beautiful piece for a walk-in-closet, vanity area, dresser, desk, etc. Dimensions: 5.69" Diameter x 5.63" Height.
