Mid-20th Century Baltic Amber Necklace with Graduated Polished Beads
A finely made vintage amber necklace, dating to the mid-20th century, strung with 89 polished beads displaying the warm cognac tones and internal inclusions characteristic of natural Baltic amber. Each bead is individually hand-knotted on cord, and the necklace is fitted with a lobster clasp, likely a later replacement.
The amber has good translucency with natural variation throughout, ranging from pale honey to deeper brandy hues. The beads are gently graduated, giving the necklace a harmonious balance and fluid line when worn.
Measuring approximately 53cm in length and weighing 12.2 grams, it sits comfortably at collarbone level and wears well either alone or layered.
Likely produced c.1950s–1970s, this is a classic example of mid-century Baltic amber jewellery, offering both decorative appeal and growing collectability.
Good vintage condition with minor signs of wear commensurate with age.
