Large Estate Scandinavian Modernist natural deep madeira translucent amber and sterling silver statement ring.
20th Century
Organic form statement ring featuring an artistic sterling silver setting and a superb deep madeira color natural amber gem with beautiful inclusions. The color reads a rich burgundy-red when held to light and a near black against a background. When worn and catches the light, the red color is stunning. This piece feels more like a work of art than a ring. Great scale statement ring.

Amber has been cherished as a gemstone since antiquity and has been used in jewelry from 13,000 years ago. Natural amber has a lovely, delicate pinewood fragrance which, when heated, produces oil of amber, likened to musk, an aphrodisiac. In Buddhist practice, amber serves as a reminder to practice kindly communication.
