About the Item
Versailles 9ct Gold Tonneau Wristwatch, Swiss Movement, London Hallmark 1990
A refined vintage gentleman’s wristwatch by Versailles, featuring a curved tonneau-form case in solid 9ct yellow gold, fully hallmarked for London, 1990 with the sponsor’s mark S.&Co.. The dial is finished in white guilloché and set with applied gold-plated Roman numerals, slender gold-tone hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock. It is signed Versailles and Swiss MVMT, confirming Swiss quartz movement.
The reverse of the case bears further inscriptions: Sapphire Crystal, 3 ATM Water Resistant, and 9K / 375, with additional gold marks to the inner case edge and clasp. The watch is fitted with a later brown lizard-grain leather strap, secured with a gold-tone buckle.
