About the Item

A wonderful antique Victorian era Zebra wood games compendium, circa 1869. The hinged lid reveals fitted compartments, the interior with a lift-out tray fitted with game pieces, a cribbage board, bone dominoes, playing cards and other associated items. The twin hinged front fitted with an attractive chess set and with leather game boards with chess, backgammon, etc. Retains all pieces and cards associated with these games. It is not only a collectable set but a compendium which is guaranteed to provide a lot of fun. In excellent original condition, appears to be hardly used. England, mid 19th century.
