About the Item
Gorgeous and rare antique weighted boxwood and ebony chess set in original mahogany box by Jacques Staunton, circa 1920s. The king stands 3.75 tall and are marked on the base JACQUES LONDON in red; the pawns are 2"tall. The rooks and knights have a red mark on the top. The chess pieces are housed in their original compartmented felt line box that measures 8"W x 6"D x 4"H and has a lock with key. A Staunton Chessman green label dating to the 1920s is affixed to the inner lid of the box. Gorgeous, well maintained set! #4755RM
