A truly stunning and exquisitely made set, I have never seen another like it, I purchased it from a very fine antiques dealer in the heart of Sweden's old town, it is the only one of its type I have come across, the case is a cylinder jar in the form of a chess rook, it is a work of art on its own, it holds as mentioned a period chess set that is a medium size and carved from hardwood
The Chess is wonderfully patinated and looks every bit its circa 240+ years, there are timber losses and paint wear and so it, it really is a wonder it still exists
Condition we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished them from top to bottom, there will be some age and use related patina marks as mentioned and as you would expect,
