About the Item
Gino Cenedese Ultra Rare Murano Glass Chess Set, Venice, Italy, 1960s.
This is a highly rare Murano glass chess set by Gino Cenedese - one of the famous glass artists from Venice, Italy.
The Cenedese chess set comes straight from the first owner, who had it since 1972. It was bought in the Cenedese shop on the Murano island in Venice and the buyer told us there were only a few of these made. The set has been made in the late 1960s, as he was told by Cenedese and was a shop centerpiece for a few years.
The bicolor glass makes for a wonderful contrast and combines nicely with the chess board in metal. A true conversation piece, this chess set in wonderful Murano glass will also be a unique centerpiece on your table, desk or sideboard. A true gem.
The chess set comes in a very good condition with the original Cenedese sticker still on one of the horses. It is also signed on the chess board.
