Release:
Field of Dreams, directed by Phil Alden Robinson and based on W.P. Kinsella’s novel Shoeless Joe, has become one of the most celebrated American films of the late 20th century. Blending magical realism with baseball folklore, the film tells the story of Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella (Costner), who follows a mysterious voice urging him to build a baseball field in his cornfield—resulting in the reappearance of legendary players from the past.
