About the Item
Grande stemma barocco racchiuso entro accartocciato, realizzato in pioppo dipinto in policromia e parzialmente dorato, Firenze inizio XVIII secolo. L'accartocciato è caratterizzato da un disegno simmetrico composto da volute di forte stampo architettonico ed è sormontato da mascherone posto entro elementi fogliacee in guisa di ali, mentre nella sezione inferiore presenta un festone d'alloro che, sviluppandosi a partire dai lati, finisce per farne da sfondo. Lambrecchini, fiocchi con galle e un bottone a forma di rosone ornano ulteriormente l'accartocciato. Al centro, posto entro scudo partito composto da riccioli, campeggia l'insegna della famiglia Pasqui ("D'azzurro, alla fede di carnagione, [...], sormontata da una stella a otto punte d'oro"), affiancato da un bandato color rosso e oro. L'oro è utilizzato sia per la realizzazione di alcune delle decorazioni, sia per definire il profilo di riccioli e volute, contribuendo a conferire allo stemma un effetto prospettico di tridimensionalità (trompe-l'oeil). Restauri e ritocchi nella cromia. La famiglia Pasqui è una famiglia molto antica di origini toscane, la quale fin dal 1200 figura nei ruoli del quartiere di santo Spirito di Firenze, ove tenne stabile dimora fino al 1300. Risulta inoltre ascritta alla cittadinanza fiorentina nel 1606.
