The literal translation of the inscription is: "In memory of Commander of Squadron Vysotsky Snore II from the lower ranks of the squadron entrusted to him A.N. Demidov of Her Majesty Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. August 30, 1907." The dedication links the album to Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, the last Empress of Russia, indicating a connection to high-ranking military or court circles. The album is also noted for a maker's mark or signature located on the interior, reading "S....B".
The album features a robust construction with an intricate gilded bronze frame surrounding the onyx, and elegant side clasps. The back cover is finished with textured leather and brass studs. The interior pages, designed for housing photographs, feature gilt edges, contributing to the piece's luxurious and ceremonial appeal.
