About the Item
Lovely traditional German military drum, the so called ''Landsknechte'' drum (land's servants drum/minstrel drum).
These larger drums are a typical oldern days music parade drums, and as for their size, they were held
and played to the side of the body.
Possibly 1935 or later, here adorned with white and blue flames.
The drums this size came adorned with either red, blue, green and black flames at the time.
Mainly red and black was mainly used by the Hitler Youth, this blue one
would have been likely the Marine version.
This drum is due to it's age and condition more a decorative or collectors item, although the top
hide (genuine cow or goat hide) sounds still like a drum.
The bottom 'hide' must have been replaced at one point, here with a synthetic skin.
Cotton strings, metal hardware, genuine leather adjustment bits.
The age of this item is being disputed. However, it is made in the style of those old drums.
