This handmade bronze plumb bob dates back to circa 1800 during the Ottoman period in what is now Israel (historically known as Eretz Israel). Crafted with precision, this tool was used by local builders and artisans to ensure vertical alignment when constructing homes and other structures. Its conical shape, smooth patina, and balanced weight reflect the skilled workmanship typical of Ottoman-era craftsmanship. The upper portion features a rounded head with a small side opening—possibly for suspending it with string or twine—while the tapered body ends in a turned, decorative finial.
