About the Item
A circa 1940s to mid 1950s large anatomical model of the human heart used to teach anatomy in medical school. Hand painted in multi color mat enamel with all the chambers and parts of the heart numbered. Three hinged door on the heart open to show the interior chambers with valves, arteries and veins. The heart is a painted wood or composite with painted mat enamel. The heart is large and measures 14 inches in circumference and 9.5 inches tall off of the stand. The stand is a painted black enamel wood pedestal base. Sitting on the stand the model measures 13.25 inches tall. The stand base is 6.25 inches in diameter. Very very nice condition with minor flecks nicks in painted finish.
