About the Item

An early 19th century French marquetry commode de maitrise, or miniature sample commode. Made veneer of mahogany with pine and beech as a secondary woods. Three dovetailed drawers with herringbone patterned front and small turned knobs. In good restored condition. Perfect for storing treasured objects or for use as a jewelry box or men's valet.
