Antique silver and rock crystal walking stick Continental, c. 1900 Height 90.5cm, width 7.5cm, depth 4.5cm This early 20th century walking stick showcases an extraordinary knight’s head, masterfully crafted from silver and rock crystal. The handle, a striking focal point, is carved from rock crystal, with the craftsman applying various finishing techniques to enhance its design. Most of the handle features clear rock crystal, while frosted rock crystal is used to highlight elements such as the visor. The plume stands out with a combination of both clear and frosted crystal, adding dimension to the piece. Silver detailing adorns the handle, with nature-inspired motifs etched into the metal. The silver collar, designed to complement the handle, features elegant palmette and swirling patterns. The shaft is crafted from durable ebonised wood, culminating in a metal ferrule.
