About the Item
Large sculpture of beetle in flight, this is a large cut-away model (on the original base) of a beetle used for anatomical instruction in a Prague, (circa 1950-1959). Model is hand-crafted from papier-mâché and carved wood. Completely hand-painted and features articulated arms, removable painted cloth wings, functional hinged sheathes, cut-away back and head and rubber internal organs.
