About the Item

Presenting an exquisite miniature Dutch marquetry cabinet, a beautifully crafted example of traditional European decorative arts. Standing 37" high x 31 1/2" wide x 14 3/4" deep, this finely detailed piece features elaborate floral marquetry and inlaid woodwork throughout, showcasing the meticulous artistry associated with 18th- and 19th-century Dutch craftsmanship. The upper portion includes a pair of shaped doors with richly patterned panels that open to reveal a fitted interior—perfect for storing small valuables, documents, or curiosities. Below, three serpentine-front drawers are adorned with scrolling marquetry motifs and fitted with original brass hardware. The cabinet is elegantly supported by expressive ball-and-claw feet, adding a sense of grandeur and old-world character. This miniature Dutch cabinet displays the classic hallmarks of marquetry furniture: intricate floral vines, urns, birds, and geometric banding, all executed in contrasting veneers for dramatic visual impact. Its compact scale makes it ideal for tabletop display, collector’s rooms, or sophisticated accent décor in traditional and eclectic interiors. Condition: As expected with age, the cabinet shows scratches, veneer losses, splits in the wood, oxidation to hardware, and areas of loose trim. These imperfections add authenticity and offer an excellent opportunity for restoration or display as-is for a charming timeworn look. A rare and decorative statement piece for any fine antique collection. Measures 37 tall x 31.5 wide x 14.75 deep
