The scale is perfect as it had to be and the quality of work is evident.
Further inspection reveals that no detail was too small, as evidenced by the carved small boats, the ropes, poles and fittings. 5 feet long.
This stunningly beautiful and intricately carved ship model was created by the sailors when they were at sea for many years at a time and they created this amazing model using handmade tools using scraps of whatever was available for carving and bringing this piece of art to life.

Fabulous American vintage all tin wind-up toy with attached key and clockwork mechanism, whereby upon winding it up, the character (Joe Penner) waddles aimlessly across the floor, hat flying in the air with notorious cigar in motion (see attached video with listing). The toy is in wonderful and complete original condition with all original parts and authentic factory paint. It is often found incomplete (cigar or hat missing more often than not); and usually doesn't work properly. The iconic 1950s Aston Martin DBR sports car is crafted by an innovative process, quite unique to Compulsion Gallery. Their sculptures are all hand cast in a special high density resin material which is then thermal plated with lead-free pewter. Each individual piece is hand polished by skilled craftsmen and lacquered to preserve the brilliant metal finish. The beautiful metallic models have the look, weight and cold feel of solid metal. The company was dissolved circa 2017 and only produced these exceptional products for 10 to 15 years. Although missing its label we have seen others that read 'Compulsion Gallery, no cleaning required, British Giftware Association Member'.
