About the Item

A very rare 19th Century well figured gadget walking cane with a built in painters mixing vial, watercolour palette and brushes. This exceptional piece is finely hand carved with rich patination, grain, features a stunning well cast brass mounted crest and collar and is surmounted with a moulded handle of circular form which detaches to reveal a storage section for a painters mixing vile with a further detachable panel on the elegantly tapering body which detaches to reveal a storage section for a set of watercolours, the detachable ferrule at the base screws off to reveal a storage section for painters brushes.
