Miniature depicting The Virgin and Child with Little Saint John, known as the Virgin with Veil or the Virgin with Blue Tiara (Louvre), after Raphael (1483-1520), signed lower left J. Barret du Coudert after Raphael. Wooden frame and gilded stucco with frieze decoration in a fine case from Alphonse Giroux in Paris. Box dimensions: 32 x 27 cm Frame dimensions: 30 x 25 cm Miniature dimensions: 18 x 13 cm Marie-Joséphine Baret du Coudert (1832-?) née Rozier exhibited this work at the 1859 Salon. Condition report: in perfect condition due to box.
