Antique English Choir Trophy Award Plaque Copper Repousse c1938 Lyre Harp.
Direct from England, just arrived in our most recent container, we have several of these one-of-a-kind English trophies that are brimming with provenance, and oh “the stories they could tell”!
This large plaque/trophy has a huge dimensional shield, repousse designs of rope and laurel, with an upper banner engraved: “LONDON BROTHERHOOD FEDERATION, THE HEAL CHALLENGE SHIELD For FEMALE VOICE CHOIRS CLASS E”.
The center oval features a beautiful repousse lyre surrounded by foliage and floral. Lower shield is engraved “PRESESNTED BY W.HEAL ESQ.”.
There are 11 individual discs and 1 shield positioned around the repoussé shield. Two of the discs engraved: 1938 Gidea Park Womens Bright Hour; 1939 Gidea Park Womens Bright Hour.
Measurements: 22.5” ht. x 17.5” x 1.5”.
