B&O BeoLab 3000 passive loudspeakers, polished steel and blue fabric front ... The speakers are in excellent working order and in very good condition Designed by Gideon Lindinger-Lowy, and produced by Bang and Olufsen, Denmark in 1988-1991. They may not have looked like high-specification loudspeakers - more like works of art - but their sound immediately betrayed them. Even at full volume, they kept the total sound image in perfect balance. Bang Olufsen's BeoLab 5000, Beovox 5000 and Beovox 3000 loudspeakers had both the voice and the appearance for a leading acoustic role. And because of their appearance, they were known as Bang Olufsen's range of panel loudspeakers. The panel loudspeakers were one of the most exciting and interesting examples of how Bang Olufsen combined cutting-edge technology and stunning design to achieve totally new effects. The panel speakers were available in two sizes - each with or without an amplifier and a display showing which source was playing and at what volume. It also told you the track number of a CD or cassette you were listening to. With display and amplifier, the loudspeakers were called BeoLab. Without, they were called Beovox. The option depended on which Bang Olufsen sound system was connected. BeoLab loudspeakers were designed to match the Beosystem 6500, 4500, 3500 and Beocenter 9500 and 8500, but they can also be used on non-Bang Olufsen equipment such as an amplifier.
