About the Item

A significant ceramic object from the Znojmo workshop, a fish pot for fishermen. Crafted in the Art Nouveau period, around 1900. The pot consists of two parts: a base and a bowl with a hole for the fish to enter. The pot must be filled with water to allow the fish to survive. Both the pot and the bowl are in Art Nouveau style, with knobby handles and the original wooden grip. The colors range from light blue to ochre. Hand-painted fish and gentle waves can be seen all over. The pot is very practical because the fish cannot escape through the bowl, although the bowl can be removed later. Measurements approx.: height 12,01 in - 30,5 cm, height with handle 16,34 in - 41,5 cm, width 13,58 in - 34,5 cm, depth 11,22 in - 28,5 cm An outstanding piece, steeped in history, exceptionally rare—a museum piece that can still be used.
