The globe is contained in its original case, which itself is covered in shark skin.
There are slight gaps in the original paint on the sphere. The case no longer closes.
The sphere measures 2.6 in (6.8 cm) in diameter whereas the case measures 2.9 in (7.4 cm) in diameter.

The globe is made up of twelve printed paper gores aligned and glued to the sphere.

The celestial globe is depicted on the inside of the box.
On the terrestrial globe much of central and southern Africa is empty. North America bears only the name of some British colonies. It shows California as a peninsula and the northwest coast of America as "unknown parts" (Alaska is not described and is only partially delineated; it would become part of the United States in 1867). The route of Admiral Anson is traced (1740) and the trade winds are indicated by arrows. Australia, still named New Holland (the new name would be introduced in 1829), is part of the west coast. A racing flag from the Royal Sailing Yacht Britannia, circa 1936. This large racing flag was made from pieced wool bunting with machine stitched bunting and a canvas sleeve stamped ‘5’. It is of rectangular form with the Prince of Wales feathers enclosed in a ducal coronet and the motto ‘Ich Dien’ on a halved blue and red ground, later framed and glazed. It is accompanied by a black edged letter on Buckingham Palace writing paper dated 10th July 1936 saying ‘Dear Sir, I am commanded by the King and Queen Mary to send you these flags which were flown on board “Britannia” at various times during her career, including one of her racing flags. Their Majesties hope you will like to keep these in your club house as souvenirs of the old yacht. Yours Derek Keppell, Master of the Household, The Commodore, Royal Portsmouth Corinthian Yacht Club.” King George died on 20 January 1936 which explains the black edge to the letter. English, circa 1936.

R.S.Y. Britannia played an important part in preparing challengers for the America’s Cup. She was used as a trial horse for the Shamrocks and later, after conversion, for most of the ‘J’ Class yachts of the 1930s. Britannia was built in 1893 according to the plans of G. L. Watson for His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, a keen and able helmsman. From the beginning, Britannia was a successful racing yacht winning races against Kaiser Wilhelm’s Meteors, among many others. Britannia won over two hundred races in her career — a record that has yet to be surpassed. She was beaten once by Navahoe, one of Herreshoff’s boats, but fared better against another America’s Cup yacht, Vigilant, winning twelve races out of seventeen. When Britannia was converted to race in the ‘J’ Class she was stripped of her bulwarks, given a one-piece mast and a Bermudan mainsail. The transition did not interrupt her run of success, although she performed best in hard weather. She was scuttled off the Isle of Wight at the dying request of George V.

A very rare set of three folio size books on the textile collection at the
Victoria and Albert Museum. The books are in linen with gilded letters
in Japanese on the spine, each book in its original slip cover, all in very
good condition. Some minor stains on one slip cover.
The books are printed by Gakken, Tokyo 1980 in English and Japanese.
A fabulous reference set for Textile Designers.
Volume 1, Middle Ages to Rococo (1200 – 1750).
Volume 2, Rococo to Victorian (1750 – 1850).
Volume 3, Victorian to Modern (1850 – 1940).
Each volume contains approx. 285pp and 250 color illustrations. These volumes are an invaluable record of over 700 masterworks of textile design, housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Volume I deals with the gold embroidery for which England was famous
in the middle ages, and which is magnificently represented in the Museum.
Some of the best examples were acquired in the early years at South
Kensington, in the 1860's, but important aquisitions continued in the late
19th and early 20th century and several notable purchases have been made
during the past 50 years.
This section is followed by sections on embroidery from the 16th century
to 1750.
The second volume of the series will deal mainly with woven and printed
textiles from the Rococo to the early Victorian period, 1750 to 1850.
The most significant acquisitions from this period have been made
in the last 25 years. It is only recently that is has become possible to
make and adequate assessment of the development of British textiles...

This is a model of a mill engine created in England by the Stuart Turner company in the beginning of the 20th century. This is the Stuart Turner S50 small mill type engine, of horizontal formation with single cylinder and slip eccentric, powering a 3.5 inch spoked flywheel, free running. This antique model is a miniature of the real one, manufactured to be installed in farms during the British Industrial Revolution. Masterfully crafted with beautiful details and great materials, such; bronze, iron and steel. The model is mount in a piece of wood for display. This so-called adult’s toys are highly collectable and display very well, a great conversation pieces. Recently cleaned and oiled for sharp function.
