About the Item
This impressive 19th-century crucifix is a unique example of religious art and masterful craftsmanship of the period.
The crucifix is executed with a combination of tortoise and ebony, finished with ripple mouldings. Finely carved corpus of Christ with attention to anatomy and expression, and bears the traditional inscription INRI at the top.
In good condition. Pair of fingers broken off and one nail missing.
