About the Item

A late 19th Century, antique large French Provincial monumental church Tabernacle made of hand crafted copper, in good condition. The pyramid, partly domed roof of the detailed geometrical religious altar is supported by four long pillars, resting on a rectangular metal, partially Pinewood base, which are reinforced by lion feet. The Provencal décor piece is enhanced by ornate and with rosettes. Two candle holders, sticks which are attached outside on the top of each column are missing, due to age. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1860 - 1880, Provence, France. Base: 5" H x 17.5" W x 18.5" D
