About the Item
A late 19th century engraving, depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and cherubs "Christ aux Anges". Engraved on a copper panel, silver plated. After Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641). Signed E.T. left under. The panel is very detailed and refined, a real nice piece of craftsmanship. The panel is nicely framed in a beautiful carved walnut frame. The walnut frame is from the period as the panel and original with the panel. Made in France, 1880-1890.
Van Dyck was a Flemish Baroque artist who was the leading court painter in England, after achieving great success in Italy and Flanders.
