This heavy, hand carved wooden cross, with applied gesso and gilding is stunning, Italian and dating to the turn of the 18th/19th centuries. 163cm height, 103cm width, 12cm depth We assume this was either a processional cross or more likely given its weight and size, a static central focal point within a church or monastery. There are no fixings on the cross we have hung
