About the Item
Exceptionally rare cross, made in tramp art style, in Austria or in Schwarzwald, Germany, around 1890 / 1900.
The cross has a typically Latin shape and stands on a semicircular base. The cross and base are made of different layers of wood, as is famous for tramp art, the wood is stained and varnished. The cross ends are specially designed and have elaborate decoration.
The base is intended to symbolize Mount Golgotha, where Christ was crucified.
Measurments approx.: height 15,75 in - 40 cm, width 9,65 in - 24,5 cm, depth 2,56 in - 6,5 cm
