Late 17th-Century Bronze Corpus Christi
Finely cast bronze figure of Christ crucified, dating from the late 17th century (circa 1680–1700). Executed in the Baroque style with expressive anatomy and dynamic movement, the body slightly curved in an elegant S-shape, the head turned to the right, and the loincloth tied asymmetrically with deeply folded drapery. Beautifully detailed hair and facial expression conveying both suffering and serenity.
Cast in the lost-wax technique (cire perdue) with warm original brown patina and subtle traces of age and handling. The back shows the original mounting holes for attachment to a wooden cross.

Width (hand to hand): 14.8 cm
A refined devotional bronze of excellent quality, typical of Flemish or French Baroque workshops active around 1700.
