Embodying grace and quiet devotion, this finely modeled terracotta sculpture of the Madonna and Child was crafted in Italy circa 1950. Designed by S. Melani and produced by Arnova, a respected maker of religious statuary, the piece captures the Virgin Mary in a serene pose, gently cradling the Christ Child in her arms. Her flowing drapery, downcast gaze, and hooded mantle evoke a tender spiritual intimacy, characteristic of mid-century Italian devotional art.
