This painting, this gouache with the Virgin Mary and Jesus, was made in Austria around 1890 by the well-known imperial and royal courtier.
This painting is a high-quality work, made by Theyer
Hardmuth, Purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court of Austria. The frame is beautifully carved with a ribbon, with a hinged stand on the back. The image section is rounded at the top, framed with a brass border, and features faceted glass. It depicts a beautiful view of Mary with the Christ Child. Please note the details, the Madonna's crown, the folds of the cloak, and the light reflections on the jewelry.
