Hand-painted in tempera on a solid wood panel, the composition presents the moment when the infant Christ is brought to the Temple, surrounded by the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, and the prophetess Anna, with Simeon receiving the Child in a richly detailed architectural setting. The icon displays traditional stylization, elongated proportions, radiant haloes, and deeply saturated pigments, set against a warm red and ochre background.
