About the Item

SEAL OF ARMS ECCLESIASTIC HERALDIC ROYAL CROWN COAT OF ARMS OF THE AUVERGNE TOWER CARDINAL OCCITANE CROSS ARCHIEPISCOPAL CROSS HAT COAT OF COAT STAMP This seal is old. It is a coat of arms surmounted by a royal crown, on the top a two-armed archiepiscopal cross. The crown is topped with a headdress as part of the exterior ornaments, representing a wide-brimmed hat, generally reserved for ecclesiastics. The seal is accompanied by a cord, the number of knots of which (tussels, also called tassels, or fiocchi) reflects the rank of the ecclesiastic. Ecclesiastical heraldry. Patriarchs, archbishops and bishops can no longer use the insignia of family nobility titles or secular dignities, but they could formerly use the external ornaments corresponding to the nobility titles possibly attached to their seat or their abbey. This usage was abolished in 1951 under the pontificate of Pius XII. As for the condition, note two gaps on the wood. Thank you for detailing the photos.
