About the Item

This elegant antique wall hanging barometer and thermometer was crafted in France, circa 1890. The carved oak weather and temperature reader features impressive, high-relief carvings of acorn and leaf motifs throughout; it is further embellished with a dog head sculpture at the pediment. The thermometer and weather forecast are operational to a degree but do not provide accurate readings; the piece nevertheless serves as a great decorative accent and conversation piece.The Black Forest weather station is in good condition with a rich walnut patina and would make a charming, rustic addition to any hunting lodge or ranch home. Barometer glass cover cracked. Measures: 10" W x 24" H.
