Circa 1920s Torsion Balance Co, New York "Class A" Scale. Glass
nickel plate metal case. According to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, which has an identical one in its collection, "The Springer Torsion Balance Co. described the Style 269 as a “Prescription Scale,” boasting that it was the “best and handsomest upright pan balance ever made."". Label reads: The Torsion Balance Co. Style 269 No B113572 Capacity 120G Class A Made in U.S.A. Crack in upper right side pane of glass. Typical condition given age
