Large Wooden Carved Black Forest Weather Station with Deer
A large Black Forest antique wall barometer with an ornate carved wooden frame featuring detailed hunting motifs. The design includes a stag’s head with antlers at the top, carved hare and fox on the sides, and oak leaves surrounding the instruments. It combines a thermometer and a barometer, both set in an elegant, nature-inspired composition typical of Black Forest craftsmanship. Executed in Brienz, Switzerland around 1900. Very good condition, function not tested.
The tradition of wood carving, using manual skills to make everyday objects and fine art sculptures, is found throughout Europe.
