A very rare 19th Century four inch diameter telescope by 'Steward of London' of exceptional quality with superb optics and is stamped J.H. Steward. The finely cast polished brass telescope features additional astronomical optics and multi power terrestrial optics, is housed in a fabulous fitted storage box and is raised on a gorgeous finely hand carved, well figured and richly patinated mahogany and brass extendable and adjustable tripod base.
