About the Item

This is a beautiful antique Russian silver gilt and enamel walking stick sating from Circa 1880. It features a decorative silver gilt, blue enamel and nephrite jade handle on a gently tapering chestnut wood shaft. It bears the Russian silver mark 84. As from 1798, the 84 zolotniki (.875) standard replaced 72 zolotniki as the legal minimum standard. The standard for Russian silver is measured in zolotniks. Add this superb collector's item to your collection. Condition: In really excellent condition, please see photos for confirmation. Dimensions in cm: Height 92 cm x Width 6 cm x Depth 6 cm Dimensions in inches: Height 3 foot x Width 2 inches x Depth 2 inches Size of cane that you need Convert your height into inches. For example, if you are 5' 10” in your shoes, your height is 70 inches. Divide by two and then add ½ inch to determine your approximate cane size.In our example, if you are 70 inches tall (5' 10”), your approximate cane size would be 35” plus ½”= 35.5 inches. Nephrite Jade Nephrite jade is often used in carvings since it’s tough but easier to cut than jadeite. Nephrite's toughness is caused by its physical structure of felted and interlocking fibers, making it dense and resistant to damage. It is also found in a range of colors from pure white to green and even black, and nephrite can often appear translucent to opaque. White nephrite was once highly prized by Chinese emperors and is one of the rarest minerals on earth. Many of humanity’s earliest tools, dating as far back 5,000 years, were crafted of nephrite jade.
