Sportsmen Book, Racing And Coursing.
A rare, first edition, single encyclopaedia of sports book from the series "British Sports and Sportsmen" titled Modern Flat-Racing, Steeplechasing, Point - To - Point Racing, Coursing And Greyhound Racing. The original set would have included sixteen books all on a wide variety of British sports, their history and personalities of the time. The book with original bevelled hard bound morocco leather covering with gilt lettering and tooling, the spine with five raised bands and title. The front of the book "British Sports and Sportsmen", red marbled papers front and back with informative text and numerous photogravure prints and photographic illustrations, pages with gilt edging. Limited edition of 1000 copies, of which this numbered 635.
