About the Item
Hardy Perfect All-Brass 3″ Diameter Replica Fly Reel.
This reel, made by Hardy Bros. Ltd., Alnwick, England, is an all-brass construction with a lovely dark patina. Features include a composite handle, pierced brass foot, brass-bridged rim tensioner, and the early 1896 check mechanism. The faceplate is stamped "Hardy's Pat, Perfect Reel" and bears two Hardy logos: the Rod in Hand logo and Hardy's oval logo.
We believe this reel was released as part of Hardy's 125th Anniversary celebration.
For reference, Hardy did produce a limited edition All-Brass Perfect 125th Anniversary Fly Reel in the late 1990s. A total of 1,000 individually numbered reels were made. Each reel was supplied in a leather case, packed inside a cardboard box, and accompanied by a small booklet.
