About the Item

Victorian "piggy back" Huntsman's Canteen. A rare large hunting canteen, a combined sandwich case and flask in leather case. The "piggy back" hunt canteen differs from the normal style of side by side as the flask sits on top of the sandwich box instead, both fit snugly into the case. The leather with shoulder strap, saddle straps and front button stud (Sam Browne Stud) fastening leather strap. It has a inner divider for the sandwich case and flask. The top of the sandwich "box" has the traditional D loop to pull it out of the case. The shaped flask with hinged lid with screw bayonet fitting. A beautiful vintage sandwich case in the rare "piggyback" style in great condition. Sandwich case measures 21 cm high, 14 cm wide 3 cm deep. Flask measures 21 cm high, 14 cm wide 5 cm deep.
