Good size antique bronze golfer from the 1920s.
This stylish golfer in his 1920s golf outfit is an absolute joy to own and look at. Apart from the curved body posture the artist has managed to capture most of the details that one would expect when a good golf player strikes a ball with a small wood. Although in this day and age there are players such as Scottie Scheffler who have their own idea of what a perfect golf swing should look like. Unfortunately, we cannot find a signature on the base or anywhere else on this rare antique golf statue. This heavy bronze has a beautiful patina and it is in perfect condition. The design may not be Art Deco, but from the golf gear and the hairdo one can tell that this sculpture is all about the 1920s. If you look closely then you can see that this antique golfer was originally gilt and the golf ball was silvered. The natural wear to the gilding has left the most beautiful patina making this statue even more desirable. This rare work of golf art makes a wonderful display piece for a private golf enthousiast, but it will also look great in a mancave, golf shop or clubhouse. This rare antique golf statue also makes a great talking piece, it stands perfectly firm and stable and it will look great on your desk or credenza.
