About the Item
A well presented late 19th century taxidermy adult Goose head mount, it would appear this has been produced by a good period taxidermist, possibly Rowland Ward or the like. The Goose has its original straw filled interior and would have been mounted on a shield, but sadly this has long gone, but the piece now display well without.
One of the original glass eyes has cracked, but isn't loose. Apart from that is very good original condition.

A rather curios Victorian diorama of "Jacko" the ratter c.1850, a plaster model of a terrier presented in a period glass dome mounted with its original ebonised stand. Mounted between his feet is a circular silver medal, the obverse inscribed 'In memory of Jacko, the Champion Terrier 14 lb Weight', the reserve inscribed 'Presentation Medal to Canine Fancier and M.P.R. The diorama came from the collection of Jack Webb (1923-2019), London.
