About the Item

A very rare taxidermy head mount of an English Bulldog, housed on its original circular oak shield. The mount is totally untouched and original, very much in country house condition. Some minor nibbles and knocks mainly around the extremities of the ears, but overall in wonderful condition. Last quarter of the 19th century in age 29cm in height (shield) 23cm in depth 24.5cm in width (shield)

A rather curios Victorian diorama of "Jacko" the ratter c.1850, a plaster model of a terrier presented in a period glass dome mounted with its original ebonised stand.
