This finely preserved taxidermy specimen depicts a Pied Peacock, a rare and visually striking color morph of the Indian Blue Peacock (Pavo cristatus). The pied variety is characterized by its distinctive pattern of pure white feathers interspersed with areas of iridescent blue, green, and black—a result of leucism, a genetic condition that causes partial loss of pigmentation while preserving the bird’s characteristic form and eye-patterned train.
