About the Item
A very large and well formed taxidermy head mount of a Holstein Bull
Mounted on its original oak shield, unfortunately no label is visible on the reverse of the shield but has been done by a well to do taxidermist of the period.
Late 19th century to Edwardian in age, likely a stud bull as most Holstein Bulls where used for there meat.
In very much untouched country house condition, with age related wear and abrasions just how it should be. The oak shield has a large spilt, also a large crack in the hide under its left eye. The bull has its original solid brass nose ring.

Jacko is mounted on a purple velvet cushion with gold threaded decoration. Mounted between his feet is a circular silver medal, the obverse inscribed 'In memory of Jacko, the Champion Terrier 14 lb Weight', the reserve inscribed 'Presentation Medal to Canine Fancier and M.P.R. The diorama came from the collection of Jack Webb (1923-2019), London.
